A city expert gives his damning verdict on ALL political parties on the UK's record debt the government has run up in the name of vote buying for New Labour. What are the political parties going to do about all the debt New Labour has run up?

Recorded from 20 October 2009.

  • when i say if there is inflation that would help us...

i am talking from a high level perspective, for the good it would do our countrys national debt.

800 billion in debt. Without inflation it would be very hard to pay off, thats one reason why the boe have created 200 billion via qe. and taking about doing another 50 billion.

Of course to the little people, you and me in the street we want deflation.

And yes that it a good point that high inflation would be unfair to china etc.out of space

  • You're not serious, are you?

  • I pray to god that that was sarcasm.

Say Britain owes China 100 Billion. Do you really think they're going to accept 100Billion pounds when the pound is worth significantly less due to inflation than it is now? If the value of the pound fell by 50%, you'd owe China 200 Billion in REAL money.

  • This guy doesn't have a clue, if there is inflation that would help us....

if we increase the money supply (ie inflation) we can pay off the debt.

Where do they get these guys from ?
