This incident began around 1740 and was attended by 18 pumps plus specials and support pumps. With the need for relief crews as well, there were around 30 pumps in attendance at one stage. The video begins about 150 minutes into the incident just before dusk, and shows the development of the fire over the following 2-3 hours. The are 3 parts to this video.

  • I'm sure I have just seen this building on the news whilst it was still in tact. It was about a guy who made kitchens in it and the council took him to court and lost so the tax payer has to pay £4m court costs. Was it this building or is there more than 1 building with MAPLE on it?

    Dave ~ it could well have been as he certainly owned that mill and refuses to clear the site, hence the reason the remians still stand. However, that said, there were 2 Maple Mills next to each other. The fire was at No.2 Mill so they could have shown No1 Mill.
