Thanks for answering my questions. Any news or ideas when an English version of your book might materialize? I am eagerly awaiting. I'm afraid it would take a very long time for me to learn another language well enough to fully understand and appreciate the information in your book, and therefore I'm resigned to wait until an English version comes to fruition. I've been watching your videos and reading your site and I enjoy the discussion.

@dogfan4lyfe the Will of 1498 was invented in 1588 by a Genoese pretender named Balthasar Colombo who wanted to inherit the dukedom of Veragua. I have an extensive chapter written on this showing 25 lies/falacies that prove the document was forged. He did not assume a Genoese identity. In Spain foreigners of that time were called "ginoveses" much like we call "Mexicans" to any illegals that show up in USA, most of them are not from Mexico. Third persons said he was Genoese, some said Milanese..

I can accept that. But what about the will in 1498 that he wrote that read "yo nací en Genoba" or "I was born in Genoa" ... is this a forgery? Or misinterpretation?

And just so I have a better understanding, are you saying that Colon assumed the identity of Genoan when he was working as a spy?

@dogfan4lyfe - I cannot present in 5 minutes or 3 paragraphs evidence gathered in 20 years. There was no "friend from Genoa" on the voyage there is no evidence he was a friend of Colón before that. His son NEVER said his father was "Colombo" or was from "Genoa" what the son said was "and others want to make him from Genoa" or a "Colombo" because "those who reach for the heights say he was from Plasencia, because there are tombs with the Colombo name there." His son pointed to the uncertainty.

How do you respond to all of the evidence from those who were alive at the same time as he that say he was a man from Genoa? Didn't one of his friends from Genoa accompany him on his first voyage - the "since Genoa was Genoa" guy? What about his own son, who wrote his first biography, claiming he was from Genoa and that his name was "Colombo?" How are those refuted? Maybe the writings with Portuguese words were written by someone else and signed by him?

You misunderstand. The premise isn't that Genoese could not rise to power. It's that an uneducated wool-weaver as the Genoese Colombo was, could NEVER be married to the woman Colon married. Filipa Moniz was a Comendadora of the Order of Santiago her marriage had to be authorized by the King. Married in 1479 Colon was uncle to the highest nobles like the King's Lord Chamberlain and a latinist, geographer, cartographer, navigator, etc. 13 years before 1492. Must've been from drinking the water.
