Boromir and his brother are my two favorite characters. They display the most heroism and love for their country, even though they are misguided at points.

so amazing... boromir is really the best ♥

Rest at ease, Son of Gondor, your quest is done, your sword sheathed, your horn is quite. Now you stand with the heros of the past, truly there is no more fitting place for a warrior as you.

Absolutely amazing!
Boromir the true hero <3

@SwedishViking1988 in the books he did have a shield also a helmet is mentioned just as something he had with him he was never described as wearing it though and yeah i feel the same way he by tolkien was described as the best swordsman in the books (better than aragorn) regardless of what the movies said he was great thats why i got his shield tattooed on my left forearm lol

If he would only had his shield with him, he might have survived those arrows! Boromir is my favorite of all time.(Although I dont know if he had a shield in the books)

@Projechtjericho exactly, people get overly focused on his redemption but they fail to recognize that his death is ultimately a tragedy. The life of Gondor's greatest was ultimately snuffed out in the wilderness alone. He never had the chance to return home to the kingdom and people he loved like he wanted to, he never got to see his homeland again. I think its a wider testament to Tolkein's experience in war- even those who should sore in life can be robbed of life but conflict.

It is a strange fate. All hail Sean Bean!

Well said, I think Boromir represents men much more than Aragorn, as another not so good movie said once "They are great people they wish to be they only lack the light to show them the way" trough the journey you can see Boromir asking Aragorn to trust men, and that is what he does eventually so for the movie (Not the books)Boromir has an effect even in Aragorn and represents all of our powerlust all of our potential at the same time, made lil video about him /watch?v=VSlncmnpkSY hope you like

@Projechtjericho Well said, my friend... Well said :)
People aren't looking at it in the way I think that tolkien wrote him. Boromir is a tragic story, he is everything that a hero should be. Strong, handsome, a little bit brash, sacrificial, it's a story of how even the strongest of people can always be tempted by power, no matter what they use it for. He was tempted and he fell, then in his last moments he redeemed himself. Boromir's story is exactly that. Even the strongest can fall.

Boromir is my absolute favorite because of the reason the ring was able to corrupt him. He would have taken it from Frodo for the good of his country, Gondor. After seeing what he did, he was repentful and sacraficed his life for hobbits whom he cursed moments before. Truly a hero and a fitting person to die. :(
