Nigel was 110% right in 2005 when he said ''dennis couldnt do anymore as a character and I didnt want him to become someone like Phil or Ian who stayed In EE for 20 years and people thought oh no its just that prat of the tele,i want to show people what I can do if thats Movies,Dramas or going back to the theatre aslong as I test myself im happy and hope my fans are'' ....yes we are happy and shows nigel left at the right time, as diedrik wouldnt have a clue what to do with dennis' character....

Yeah it's true they couldn't really do anymore with Dennis but he could have left the show stll being alive!! Went with Sharon and lived in America, grant comes ack for good wee story lines like when he helped sam when she killed Den. They shoudl have kept him in, he was the best.

thats so true the phil today is actual more like billy was when he first came into eastenders! rather than the ''hardman'' that phil and grant used to be. Which is why ross kemp has said numerous times he wont return, Personally I would like to find out Dennis had a brother or sister when Sharon returns with Dennis Jr.....as who knew Jim Branning had so many kids until they turned up lol.....so whos 2 say that dennis' mother didnt have another kid or 2....as its eastenders after all.....

agreed, because if he was still in EE who knows what would have happened to Dennis, where as from the moment he arrived to when he left he was the best character in the show..! Still is in my opinion.

And he was right because we all want more Nigel and Dennis which shows he was right and better to still be wanted than to be like Phil who is a poor weak character compared to what he was in mid 90's.!

Have to agree, it was the only time I watched it. he was a great character, played by a very good actor.

Nigel harman's gone on to other things, but EE never recovered losing him.
