@revilogmail I have given reasons. If you can't or don't want to understand them it's your problem, not mine. Yes, the lyrics fit Cash more, but Sting still wrote them. He wanted to do a country style song (b/c he loved westerns as a kid), and either that original version or the symphonic one have more complicated chords. It's proof of Sting's talent that Cash did the song, even simplified musically.

@LaVFdeJL You speak crap seeing as this version of the song isn't even the original, this is the orchestra version. This song's lyrics are very much suited to Cash, they kind of follow his old american style. Cash doesn't mumble either. If you want to say one is better than the other then give reasons why but don't just insult the other one because it's not of your taste.

Oh, could we not go that road of comparisons? Both Johnny Cash and Sting are unique in their own way. Both exceptional artists. There are fery few that had such a great influence over the music. Why don't we give credit to them both? Two different approaches, they don't have to be exclusive, they're just... different.

Johnny Cash did this a lot better I think. It's more meaningful when he sings it and seems just more.. real. He makes this song so much more sad, powerful, and inspiring.

@eandsproduction I don't agree. Cash oversimplified the chords. This is what the song is supposed to sound like. It's much more subtle and yet powerful this way. Cash just mumbles through it and plays the simple chords he can play. His big name and Sting's lyrics did the rest.

@flowie321520 well then I definitely agree. He's one of the rare artists out there who continues to evolve and morph as time progresses.

@flowie321520 I still have a small hope XD
Have you listened to the lyrics of the song? Jesus, so sad!
