The Fun House NYC 1982-84 Revisited - Eye on the Backdrop

The Fun House was a NYC night club. It opened in the late 70's. These pictures were taken 1982-84. This video highlights the BACKDROP ART of the Fun House which was upstaged at the time by the sound system, music and lifestyle. The Paradise Garage and the Fun House club kids shared similar underground tastes in that era, although the Fun House clearly had its own unique flair. PhotoShop breathed new life into these faded pics.

I was a regular at all the clubs you mentioned in your post- The best x's of my life!! Does anyone know the title or the band that did "Feeling Groovey Yea, yea- than she pauses and say's Like this. I've put in the what I just wrote and I do not get anything.. Help me out- I thought it maybe Circus Circus. But I dont it... thanks for the memories.. :D Oh yea does anyone remember D.J Animal- and Elegantes in Jersey City? :D

Yes, this video puts me right back in the joint. Although right at it's heyday, I was getting a little mature for that particular crowd. In 1983 I was 24 years old... and although I was still clubbin alot, Funhouse crowd was a little younger. I was still going to Danceteria, Palladium, Garage, Bentley's, Long Island and Jersey clubs too.

Took the iron horse from Queens to the city, waited on line forever just to get in, but it was worth it.  Jellybean!!! I am 52 and lived through those times, right in the thick of it.  Partied my a** off with some of the finest NYC Mamis from the 5 boroughs. Party, eat, sleep and then repeat. My ears are still ringing from those days.
