If kirk and picard return at a point in time before picard first enters the ribbon, shouldn't picard be there when they return. There should have been two picards. If he needed help so bad, he could have helped himself.
Personally, I think the whole kill kirk thing was an attempt by TNG producers to get the original crew out of the way, because they knew the next generation crew could not compete with the original crew. The best TNG film is not as fun as the worse TOS film. Timeless.
the script for this film was lousy. it needed a much stronger well written script that was respectful to both the original and next gen cast. to kill off kirk the way they did was not respectful to the fans.more guest performers were needed in generations and if done properly the sequel definately would have generated alot of profit and over all it would have been the best of all the trek films if done correctly
Uh, what? I guess you've only seen Star Trek II and not the rest of them. Spock lives again, and as far as I know in TNG canon - actually still alive on Rolumus.
I didn't like either ending. This one was slow and boring and no one hardly talked. In the second ending, there were MANY errors I noticed in that ending.
The reason it was reshot ( this is rumour only so don't shoot me down in flames) is because Bill Shatner did not want Kirk dying by being chot int he back... so it was re-written. I actually prefer this ending and i have never seen it b4
both endings sucked. this one looked a bit better shot but it didn't look like he "died" it looked like he was seriously wounded. i could definitely imagine an giant collective audience "groan" when it suddenly transitions to the "burial"/pile of rocks. they spent $25 million to reshoot this? just re-edit, retards.
Gritty. Ominus. and more heart-felt than the one that ended up in the film. Kirk died a hero, not falling to his death in an accident. They were both technically on a 'bridge' as well, and a great shot with the sun rising in the background. I wish we could see a director's cut with this ending on the film, also the obital skydyving sequence as well.
