i guess all the actors who played in the movie are not still alive.its sad but this movie is so classic and they knew how to make great movies in the 40s 50s 60s
A different font was used for the title lettering in the final film, and at 2:12 there is a scene in the trailer (of Joseph Cotten and Jennifer Jones walking along the New Jersey side of the Hudson river) that did not appear in the film at all. A bonus! Thanks for sharing.
I always thought this 1948 film was Selznick's answer to "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" (1947).
I've read this in a novel titled Julian Drew's Three NB..,I got curioused about it so i checked it out.. ;)
so this is what he'd been talking about..

This one of my favorite movies, starring Jennifer Jones.

I don't look at this as a ghost story. It's more of a time travel or a time portal that he goes though with Jennie.

One of the best ghost stories ever....Too sad that it is so hard to find anymore.......And I am a 40 year old straight dude. Love this film.

Come to think of it, it appears at 2:12 that they're on the NYC side after all (probably uptown, perhaps near the Cloisters).
