I made this photo slide for a school project to raise awarness of the Darfur genocide occuring right now in Sudan, Africa. I hope the words of this song and the photos which reflect the current issue peirce your heart and compell you to do something about it, as they have done to mine. If you have any questions about Darfur, or want to know how you can help, please feel free to message me. For more information, you can also visit:

Since early 2003 over 400,000 inocent civillians have been killed and over 2.5 million have been displaced. These people daily fall victim to torture, gang rape, abduction, disease, hunger, and various other forms of inhumane abuse. Why are these horrific crimes against humanity occuring? And why hasn't anything been done to stop it? Well, these people are targeted because they are different and nobody wants to step up to the plate and protect them. The pro-Arab Sudanese government is out to exterminate all the non-Arab ethnic groups in the area. They have unleashed a malitia group known as the Janjaweed to go out and commit these horrible attrocities. They burn down villages and poison water supplies to prevent displaced villagers from returning. They have even gone so far as to manipulate and target humanitarian aid, and now they are trying to destroy displacement camps. These crimes can be stopped, but its up to us- YOU can help end the genocide in Darfur.
Through simple acts of increasing awareness, raising funds, and advocating for a political solution, you can help save lives. It doesn't take much, and every little bit counts; especially if everyone contributes even just a small amount. This current day holocaust can be stopped with YOUR help. Now the only question is, will you?

Just think about it. Be aware of what you have, and imagine just how bad it is for your fellow neighbors halfway around the world. In the least, i encourage you to read a bit about it. Go watch a movie, like "Hotel Rwanda" and just open your eyes to something outside of yourself. It won't take more than five minutes of your time, and all the while you could be making a difference in the world. Thanks for watching my slide, and i hope you will join me in efforts to save Darfur. And thank you for reading; God bless you guys.
