Our conservative ideology is the true progressive direction. It's left wingers who always use terms like"peoples' republic", things like that, that are 180 degrees opposite.
It's the politically correct liberal ideologue who preaches tolerance, but is the most intolerant of all.
It is the self-professed "progressive" who marches backwards in time chasing the failed ideas of the past. They are the real reactionaries. They are dangerous because they think they are elite!!!

I was paraphrasing what you said, since you so beautifully illustrated my point about the dangers of radical ideology.
But I'm not going to debate ideology with an ideologue. "Conservatism" as embodied by the "Tea Party" and Palin followers is reactionary, disdainful of reality and extremely self-righteous. It will find its place in the dustbin of history alongside all the other failed ideologies of the past.

Your underlying inferiority complex is showing. I did not say it! You said it!
People are worthy of the best of everything. They just don'y realize it or they are not willing to work hard to attain it.
Those who do the work are criticized or over-taxed. That, my friend, is the mentality that drove the Soviet Union to collapse.
We should reward success with less taxes and punish the unproductive with more. Now it's upside down - we punish the best and reward the worst!!!!!

Exactly, the ideology doesn't fail... the people fail it. It's perfect and people aren't worthy of its wonderfulness.
Keep telling yourself that.

Americans' attention span is exactly 23 minutes, the time of a half hour sitcom without commercials. I stopped wasting my time watching TV about a year ago. Everything that I seek to keep me informed AND entertained I can find on my computer.
And according to the stats, more and more people are switching over to freedom and away from indoctrination. On the internet we are free to do exactly what our teachers urged us to do from day one.........our own research.

The conservative ideology has never failed, my friend! When it succeeds, it is forgotten. When it succeeds, the lazy American drifts away from what enabled prosperity to make him lazy and satisfied.
It is only in hard times that the people seek sensible solutions and they again choose the conservative approach.

The problem is the bankrupt "conservative" ideology. Every time it fails, the followers make excuses. They always seek more ideological purity and attack the inconvenient realities, rather than fixing the real problem.
Reminds me of Soviet leaders constantly pushing to attain "true" Communism... If "conservative" ideas had any validity, we wouldn't be having this discussion, because they would already by in place.
Purification... purges... finding "real" candidates... same old ugly story

Mr. Zero, Barack O'Nada, the big O increased the deficit in 9 months what it took Bush 8 years to accomplish. He is the record-holder in on-the-wrong-track!!
I totally agree that the Republicans were incompetent! What we need is people like you and me, people with passion and common sense to step up to change things.
I'm doing what I can do. What about you?

If you think we were doing fine in 2006, you're in the minority... The majority put the Dems in power in both houses of Congress because of the disaster Bush got us into. Or were the 65+% of Americans at the time who saw the country as "on-the-wrong-track" just mistaken?? Perhaps they should have closed their eyes and hoped harder for the Republicants to become competent??

I forgive you. You're not Japanese. ya probably don't know how it works out in Japan, but that's ok. ya probably own 5-6 Japanese products you use on a daily basis. Like your monitor.
The only thing that is obvious CTBob, is that you assumed facts not in evidence. Typical for a "headupthebutter" for Dodd, more popularaly known as the "The Floater"
Give the girl a chance, she took the time to prepare a question, answer it, not joke it away. Time to DUMP DODD.
All together now....1......2......3......DUMP DODD!

Apparently, CTbob, you were not at this event. I was standing a few feet away from Meilia - and saw this happen live! This is what happened.
Shame on you CTbob. Even moreso, shame on Senator Dodd - who does not apparently care what Meilia or any citizen of Connecticut thinks about his actions.
