The demented imagery that people in the 90s were exposed to when playing games. Even E rated material exposed us to some creepy ass shit. Rez, Dark Matter's final form from K64, OOT's Ganon, Majora, Redeads, Bowser from SM64. The list just goes on and do not even mention Mother 2. The mere mention of the name of that boss strikes fear into my heart and soul.

I think it could be called Channel Z in reference to "Z" being the last letter in the alphabet and Rez wishing to make television "z-grade". That's my take on it.
