  • Hughie. you know not of what you speak. You have a degree in business law and you state as fact "corporations and corporate lawyer make laws". Let's just start there Hughie. (Explain how THAT happens Hughie). There's a website you can come and post to if you think you are that smart. it's labourwatch . com. If you don't want to sign up to be able to post, tell me where you regularily post so that I may come and drink of your wisdom.

  • These workers are SLAVES TO THE BOSS.

  • @HughieGphiladelphia and once they have the UFCW who do they bow down to then?

  • sherwilliger... you talk like you unions are good? How come 86% of private sector does not have them and is so successful, while the public sector is hopelessly loosing money, everyone working there is screaming for more money, and they have 75% in unions? I, and the majority of Canadians think unions are inefficient dinosaurs that thrive on conflict and hatred and waste everyone's money.

  • oh yes

and strikes... you don't get paid when you go on strike

    THINK ABOUT IT

  • Anybody wonder why the union continues to fight TO THIS DAY to get Giant Tiger unionised?? Its simple: Unions are BIG BUSINESS. Where do you think all the union dues go?? Go Staff at Giant Tiger! The staff there know that if these stores are unionised, they will make LESS money (due to UNION DUES taking MORE off their pay checks than any wage increase that COULD be negotitated would cover!) and have no more job security or benifits than they have today. . . BEWARE OF THE MONEY GRAB!!

  • @saskrox The Reason private sector is non union is because the corporations and corporate politicians make laws that control and beat down workers who want to join and form a union.

More places would be union if workers were not scared and full of fear and also if workers grew some DAMN BALLS and stopped protecting their rich boss.

p.s. I have a degree in Business and Law...Worked in both non-union and union jobs. So I know what I am talking about.

  • Unions are NO GOOD; I say if your not happy with the work conditions where you work , move on and find something that suits you. It's crystal clear that when you sign a union contract you become enslave to the union and in the end the union is the only one that profits. It's to bad the Goverment woudn't outlaw the unions because in my opinion that's all what unions are; outlaws!!They profit off the week and the uninformed.

  • SuperKarend - Who is supposed to protect the workers from the union?
