After seeing some of the amazing quadsuits people have uploaded on this site and elsewhere I though; why not give it a go myself? I have no experience making costumes so I gleaned information from all over the internet before starting. It is an expensive project but I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Also, I'm keeping which Pokemon it is a secret but it'll get easier and easier to guess as I go along.

This was recorded so I could see what the padding looked like during movement. It was all attached using selotape, hence why it starts falling off near the end. I personally think the torso needs to be lower, but other than that I'm happy with it.

If anyone has any suggestions for improvement they would be appreciated, although it's hard without the head there.

Update: I was going to wear this to London Expo October 2011 but have recently been in hospital and will not be able to go. My new goal is May 2012. I should have finished this project by the end of the year.

  • It looks sort of silly to be honest, but it's some incredible craftsmanship :o

  • @hagenisse Haha, I'm hoping it won't look silly when it's finished; with a head for example.

  • That's actually really impressive. as a low budget filmmaker that loves practical effects over visual effects i can honestly say that it would be great to learn how to make something like that

  • @mautnerfilms From someone with experience in this sort of field that is a real complement! I find experimentation based on background knowledge is the best way to learn this kind of thing.

  • Wow, this is very impressive! Nice job on the foam! However I do have tidbit of constructive critisism, you might want to fix the floppy legs.... you must be very tall.

  • i'd love to do something like this, but i have no idea how

    great job so far!

  • whos that pokemon...eh, im guessing an Absol.

  • LOL LOL

  • @squeak83uk2

i did not make this, but you can remain comfortable in a quadsuit as long as you have something to let your upper body weight lean on (like a handle on or in the stilt)

If you dont, heres a trick.Find a wall and use your stilts to climb up it so you are in the human position, and it looks like you are still being an animal.

  • what materials did you use in creating this costume???

(sorry to hear you were hospitalized hope it had nothing to do with ur pkm project here)

  • I am truly loving it. I do have one thing though. I ask, what Pokemon is this? And if a dog-like.... I'm just saying but putting some foam on the thighs would help a little with that aspect of canine-like appearance. But other than that... Looks great!!!!!!!!!!!! Good job!!!!!!! I would totally buy one of these from you. ^_^

  • @FAWEXX Am I missing something here? I'm starting to wonder if I'm being teased, with friendly connotations of course.
