This video opens with a detail from The Response - a first world war memorial dating from 1923 situated outside Newcastle's Civic Centre. This magnificent bronze sculpture by Goscombe John depicts soldiers marching off to war while women and children bid them farewell. This is sometimes known as the Renwick Memorial as it was commissioned by Sir George and Lady Renwick to commemorate, inter alia, the return of their five sons from the war.
We then see the parade setting off from the Civic Centre and marching along St Mary's Place past St Thomas' Church for the Civic Ceremony in Old Eldon Square.
The two minute silence was marked by the firing of an artillery gun from the top of Grey Street. During the silence we see the Lord Mayor of Newcastle paying his respects earlier in the day at the South African/Boer War Memorial at the Haymarket. Then we see the Burma Campaign War Memorial, a Second World War Memorial dating from 1991, and the 6th Northumberland Fusiliers War Memorial, which depicts St George slaying the dragon, outside St Thomas' Church - another First World War Memorial.
All the other pictures during the two minute silence come from the War Memorial in Old Eldon Square.
Finally, the video covers the march past at the Monument where the salute was taken by the Lord Mayor of Newcastle.
Despite the heavy rain which persisted well into the morning large numbers of people turned out for the ceremony and the veterans and soldiers were very warmly applauded by the crowd.
The video ends with another detail from the The Response.
Bands playing on the video are:

@danthecornetman the drill is awful because they are the worst unit in my district tbf i think they should have the best squad/gaurd picket from all units not 1 unit which evry year shows up northumberland istrict and the scc
