My friend Dan MacDonald sent out a press release for his animal rights group today and got back a very rude, ignorant message from Bob Odette at the Tilbury Times newspaper, part of Canada's Canwest corporation. Follow the adventure in this story making it to the local news and informing more people.

If everyone is so sure that "something else" happened, then let's see the emails? Show me the emails where Dan was rude and I'll shut my mouth. they don't exist. Because Bob Odette fired off his mouth to the wrong person and is eating it, bottom line. He's wrong and still refuses to take accountability probably blaming Dan for provoking him. Not the case. This is as as straight-forward as it gets: He was wrong and can't admited. That's extremely bullheaded. I'd fire his ass too, as wold many.

Of course he would have been fired if he wasn't in the wrong. A newspaper can't lose face when everyone is talking shit about it and about the actions of one man. Even if he didn't do anything wrong, they would have still fired him for the bad press he was giving them. You fire actors all the time when they start getting bad press and they do nothing wrong.

waag has nothing to do with the radio station this guy does it in his personal time but he gets an email from someone withapposing views and all of a sudden its news worthy

I work for a news paper as well. Standard procedure: You delete a press release. You don't tell someone to "get a fucking life". Bob Odette was doing stuff like this all the time. He needs to start his own newspaper or follow the rules. He's working for "the man". He just made the mistake of thinking he was "the man". But when you are a journalist, representing a company like Canwest, you have to be professional. He was not. And they fired him for it. End of story.
