  • @MyKittenSmokesDaGanj The conditioner depends on the style you want. If you want smooth and flat, go with a heavy cream conditioner like Express by Design Essentials. If you just want a detangled but still flowing look, Matrix Biolage Detangling Solution works really well.

I do not recommend store-brand products on human hair wigs because they are more susceptible to damage than the hair on your head.

  • @MyKittenSmokesDaGanj For human hair wigs, I treat them like human hair, since that's what they usually are. (Note that some human hair if it's pretty cheap could be synthetic and human blend.)

I use Keracare 1st Lather Shampoo to cleanse. It pulls buildup without stripping. I then use Design Essential Moisturefuse Shampoo to detangle and replenish moisture loss. I let that sit in like conditioner.

  • Thats just BRILLIANT! you saved my life... hugs from Germany!

  • omigosh this is the answer i've been looking for this saved my synthetic wig THANK YOU SO MUCH !

  • ive never used furniture polish before....does it make it greasy or just add shine?

  • @MistyinFL LOVING that top!:D

  • All of my synthetic wigs stay beautiful (though I haven't had them very long, I started on human hair), I was wondering if I could use this technique on my human hair wigs, because those are super nappy and ick now.

  • This I have been wondering about for quite a long time. With this technique I will be reusing my wigs for years. Preach that gospel Misty!

  • How clever! Thanks for this it is very helpful ! Love the t-shirt, LOL! You even look beautiful doing housework , LOVE you!

  • it is FINE to brush a wig when its wet, esp if youre about to style it. How else r u supoosed to get the tangles out?Just work from the ends up...This method u show is just how we do it in professional theatre.I might recommend blocking the wig on a canvas block and using a brush with the steamer, almost like youre round brushing it, theres less chance of singing.Be careful not to burn your fingers!
