Short hair = Failed metalhead?

So it's strange to have short hair when you are a metalhead?
I really don't think so.

I KNOW that the majority of the people in the pictures are bald instead of having short hair.
But it's nothing then a mere coincidence. These were the names that came to mind within a few minutes, and yes I could have added a lot more people but it would not have made the point I was trying to make any clearer.
I wanted to make short video with pictures of metalheads who have NO LONG HAIR....bald or short hair is not the point.
Besides, Mcdibeth from Cerebral Bore, James khazaal from Nervecell and Shaun of Putrid Pile all have short hair instead of bald.
So just try to get my point....these people are bad ass metalheads...and they have NO LONG HAIR....that was the point!

always thought the general philosophy on being metal was everything or nothing, as in you have either all your hair or no hair what so ever so theirs no compromise, besides its almost impossible to have a job and have long hair in modern times, i am a TESTAMENT \m/ to that

I cant believe that this is an issue that concerns some people. If being a 'metal head' means being an individual and doing your own thing, then hair length or clothing is not an issue. You could argue that seeing alot of metal fans all dress the same that we are not individual at all, but part of another trend. So maybe the bald or short haired metal fans are the real 'metal heads', not trying to fit into norms. Its your attitude and way of thinking that counts, not appearance.

I don't think it's weird at all. It's known as having a job, presenting a positive image of yourself along with a whole bunch of other reasons. Your hair has nothing at all to do with your ability/tastes.

@maarhoefe Well thats it. Some people just feel they want to belong, thats fine. But trying to hard to fit in and imitate takes away the individiality that so many claim to be. Either way I dont care as long as people dont ostracize those that dont. At the end of the day its really not that important to me. You have people with long hair who hate metal, people with short hair that love it. Who really cares?

Opeth is indeed a great band, Iron Maiden also. Black Sabbath, Pantera and like you also Motörhead. Then we also have some other styles of metal: System of a Down, Avenged Sevenfold, BFMV, Disturbed, Black Label Society, KoRn, LP, Machine Head, Limp Biskit, RATM, Trivium, Mastodon, Mötley Crue, POD(not sure if Metal), Slipknot, Stone Sour, Volbeat, Alter Bridge. And there's some pre-metal like Hendrix and LZ.

I'm a die hard metalhead, but it would take me FOREVER to grow my hair out long. My hair is naturally curly (not really curly, but enough to stay short looking)

The only way for me to have long hair is to straighten it, and even then it's still only jaw length.

some people need to get it through their heads that some jobs require you have short hair example a manager at a store or other times they are tired of taking care of long hair
