Baby Turtles Hatching in Aruba

This short video shows a bunch of baby hawkbill turtles hatching on a beach just outside our resort in Aruba. Coming out of the ground, they battled over what must have seemed like giant sand dunes (but were really just foot imprints in the sand) to get to the ocean. They got pretty close to us later in the video. Very cute! Nice that Aruba has people taking care of/ cordoning off the areas.

I saw the mother lay the eggs about three weeks ago and then today whilst walking along the beach a ton of turtles cameup out of the sand! It was a pretty awesome sight to see. Loved the commentary btw xD

It's great to see someone helping the turtle get back up-right, there are so many documentary shows that would point out how the beach is littered with people tracks and hills and that this turtle will die because of human disturbing the environment and wouldn't take the time to help. I watched a Penguin show like that, the crew blamed people and then never helped.

Nice video, but small correction: these are LEATHERBACK turtles! The stripes on their back and the simultaneous moving of frontflippers are characteristic of this species. Saludos turtle person on Aruba!

I did a report about the Hawksbill turtle, and know that they're endangered. So this is a very great video ^_^
