John was one of the few guys to really master the echoplex ...not that he didnt have a brilliant self taught guitar technique.......have a listen to Johns friends and inspirations Davey Graham and Hamish Imlach

i just love this man and his music.. i cant even begin to tell you how much this man inspires me and my husband who has been lucky enough to see john several times before his JMs death January 2009.. my love for John only gets deeper as time goes by and i have every album he has ever done and he always has something to soothe my soul what ever im feeling.. god bless you JOHN MARTYN wherever u are...
