"Nothing To Do With You" is written by Oliver Main, produced by Stephen Street and Cooperative Music, and performed by Matt Bowman and The Pigeon Detectives on the album "Emergency".
This video is a mash-up of the highly popular video from walkUSA/Conscious Minds and The Pigeon Detectives song, Nothing To Do With You.
The song is about a guy who breaks up with a girl, who is trying to convince her that it's nothing to do with her. The sadness of the song implies that maybe he's trying to convince himself of that more so than her.
My original desire was video with someone walking slow and the world around them walking fast. Meaning the person would be in their own world by themselves. However, I think the same is accomplished with using the Guy Walks Across America video. When the video and song are meshed together, you get a story about a guy who left someone significant in his life behind and he went on a journey which was bigger than her. He sought himself and his own accomplishment.
Certainly the song implies that the smile he carries about him is put on for a show, because even though he is moving on he still is there trying to convince himself that his moving on has nothing to do with her holding him back.
