This should be a better audio copy of the same that I posted in February 2009. The original pressing of the Euclid Beach Band's "There's No Surf In Cleveland", Scene record label, 1978, remixed by Eric Carmen. I believe the record was re-released a little later on a national record label, sans the opening line "There's no surf in Cleveland USA". The B side is called "Laugh n The Dark" which was the name of a "dark ride" at Cleveland's now defunct Euclid Beach Park. Label and sleeve scans included.

  • No subway in Cleveland? It's had a rapid transit going back to the sixties, at least. I know, because when I lived there as a little girl I called it the "rabbit train". Mom and her lady friends took me along when they went downtown for a day of shopping and Chinese food, or to a musical or play . . .

BTW, I rode the roller coaster at Euclid Beach park before I could walk - my mom and dad just wedged me in tight and WHEEE!!! Still love roller coasters! Park is gone now, though.

We still have the Rapid, hasn't changed much, no subway, except for the part of the Rapid that goes underground between the Terminal Tower and W. 25th St. I remember going to Euclid Beach Park as a kid, as well as the now defunct Geauga Lake Park.
