I'm sincerely confused at your intent. Are you suggesting that religion be an integral part of the State so as to assure its longevity? May I direct your attention to theocracies: Iran, Saudi Arabia. Freedom of religion is foundational in a secular state that allows you to choose any one of the thousands of branches of Christianity you wish to follow. I, as a nonbeliever, would defend vehemently your right to do so. Just as you would fight against state-sponsored religion.

This is secularism.

By the way, all surveys show that we're 75-80 percent non-believers in Norway, but thanks to the weird state church that you're born as a member of basically, some styatistics actually claim that we're mostly "lutheran" here, hehe. Even I'm a lutheran because I haven't bothered to leave the state church. They provide free marriages, funerals and so on, so many just don't bother to leave. Everybody knows that nobody goes to church on sundays or believe "The Bible" anyway. : )

By the way, I'm from Norway in Scandinavia and Norway is one of the very most atheistic countries in the world. Yet every statistic you can think of is much better than for instance a christian nation like the USA. We have virtually no crime, no unemployment, higher income, higher standard of living, level of education, life expectancy and a huge budget surplus every year due to all our oil. Why has "God" been so kind to us atheists?

you´re quite right even though hitler intended to slowly abolish religion (it´s in some of his speeches to the rest of the government).He did so for example by changing holidays like christmas to,I dont know exactly,winterday or something.
