Pepsi Refresh Project Demi Moore for GEMS (Girls Educational & Mentoring Services)

Demi Moore is joining the Pepsi Refresh Project with a grant idea to support GEMS (Girls Educational & Mentoring Services), an organization that empowers young women, ages 12-21, who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking to exit the commercial sex industry and develop to their full potential. With $250,000, GEMS can train 10 former victims as outreach workers and employ them to go back in their community and help refresh the lives of thousands of victimized girls.

ummm, great idea, but 10 seems little.... maybe 250K can educate more like 1000 specialize workers or more? I know university fee with engineering or science degree that cost less, and i am sure with the amount of money, and the amount of training, they can train more than 10...

I do think its a little silly for celebrities to be able to compete for grants. They should be hosting grants not holding their hand out. If the issue is to bring awareness to a charity they support let the charity apply or compete and they can tell thier friends to vote.
