you say dramatics can't reach high F i disagree because Joan Sutherland is a Dramatic Coloratura and so was Lucia Popp and they sang them quite beautifully. I'm sorry there is much debate about what Diana Damarau is and I've researched and mainly she is classified as a dramatic coloratura soprano because of the heaviness in her voice

@prettycool997 If you look at the score for Magic Flute, Mozart wrote the two QOTN arias for a lyric coloratura; the piece is meant to be light. Regardless, Damrau is NOT a dramatic, she is a lyric with a heavy voice.

@rekupp no the queen of the night aria was written for a dramatic coloratura and I have had other music majors especially voice majors tell me that it is a dramatic coloratura role :D. Dramatic just means her voice has a little heavier quality other coloratura but that doesn't mean she can't reach a high f

@prettycool997 This is erroneous. Her voice is not dark enough to be a dramatic nor is it loud enough. Secondly, the Queen of The Night was written for lyrics, lol. No Dramatic coloratura can reach a High F.

@rekupp No my dear she is a dramatic coloratura and has always been. She sings queen of the night aria quite easily. That song is made for dramatic coloraturas and she sings it very easily. It even says in her biography she is a dramatic coloratura :)

@prettycool997 Diana Damrau was never a dramatic coloratura, she has always been lyric coloratura with a heavy voice.
