The Florida government threatened to punish insurers who leave the State. You left that out. At any rate, the Citizens insurance is for Catastrophic events, making this different than most health insurance. When you buy health insurance with high deductibles that covers only serious illness, it is very, very cheap. Problem is most people don't look at health insurance like hurricane insurance...they want insurance to cover their hangnails.

I would ask the hospital to please prove that I have not already paid for the services by the gold seizure of 1933.. Since the hospital's loans come directly fro the FED .. than they are benefitting from my gold ....

ok here in florida we had the same problem with home insurance,, high rates and companys refusing to cover anyone, state of florida created citizens ,,a govt run option !!!private home insurance...scince that time rates have fallen and more people are covered than ever,, very succesful!!
the compitition forced the other companys to lower rates and accept more people,,they did not go out of business..i use the citizens my neighbor dosent,,,,EVERYTHING IS STILL OK

Obama knows only single payer, like the rest of the world has, will work. But he won't come out for it?
Obama, join the progressive democrats and push for single payer. Otherwise you are just making it worse.
Forcing more people to get ripped off by the insurance companies is not the answer!

Any public option is designed to fail. That's the goal of insurance companies. The public option is unsustainable in a poor economy. Single Payer is the conservative solution in this crisis. It will also be the conservative solution after the public option fails OR if there's no public option at all and nothing changes. Either way, it's day will come. Fake protesters have no place to go but escalation. Like the history of Al Qaeda, they're on a path toward self-marginalization by their actions.
