Joey Criddle is a Two Spirit man fighting with other LGBTQ Native Americans to reclaim the place of honor that many Two Spirits once held prior to colonization. The film follows Joey as he leads parallel lives - one as a co-director of the Two Spirit Society of Denver and the other as a father attending the Mississippi wedding of his Pentecostal son. Joey's words bridge the gap between the closeted man he was in Mississippi and the Two Spirit activist he is today.

  • Really beautiful.

  • oh and that last part "you know I can blow" LMFAO

  • beautiful video; joey's life and the way he has somehow overcome his struggles is very inspirational. i hope the two spirit culture becomes stronger at the same time preserved

  • Thank you, Joey! I sing for you and send you my love.

  • western culture has forgotten that our history filled with famous individuals who were gay but not out, need to be reminded as well that we too have had gay people who held prestigious places in societies, we've forgotten because it's easier to fear things we don't understand.

  • 04:27 where he's talking about the preacher knowing by divine will who the gay people are, if it were true Gaydar, he would have known and he would have outed you, however, most of the time, Gay people possess the gaydar so outing you may have outed him. I think he was most likely in the closet because still to this day the loudest religious protestors of gay people are closeted gay people.

  • excellent made me cry

  • Excellent video on Two Spirited people, thank you.

  • This was wonderful! I'm so glad I came across it during my search for Two Spirit info. Inspiring and heartwarming :)
