Nah, but they might be expensive because you need a big cage. They're very clean so you don't have to wash them (and you're not supposed to), just give them a sandbox to clean. They can live more than 10years.

Dehydrated fruits is bit better, the only thing you should avoid about fruits is its water and sugar contents. Feeding them a snack once in a while is ok. My Chins don't even want to eat fruits.

Just curious - what are they eating? It looks like a fruit or vegetable of some type...which are unhealthy for them, possibly causing GI tract problems. Don't want to be a pest or anything, but just watching out for them.
PS - you might want to cover those wire shelves with a thin board of wood so they don't hurt their feet.

They're eating apple, as you can see from the title. Anyway the fresh apple isn't unhealthy if the quantity is low. It's benefit the glucose.
Regarding the wire shelves: they have choice and like the wire shelves.
