Hommage à la carrière trop courte de G.Villeneuve disparu le 8 mai 1982, qui pour moi peut être comparé au grand Ayrton Senna tant par son talent et sa simplicité que par sa soif de victoire,son panache et la recherche de la perfecton...Tous deux ont diparus tragiquement en piste...Pour tous les deux le GP d'Imola fut leur dernière course...Ils avaient pratiquement le même âge.Bien que Gilles ne fut jamais champion du monde,il n'en est pas moins rentré dans la légende lui aussi...

this is a documentary done on a canadian chanel 1 year after his death the week of the grand prix in imola in 83 won by (i forget his name)he was a french driver for ferrari.i still have this on vhs.

@frankydoodytoo C'est son coéquipier Didier Pironi qui remporta le GP de Saint Marin d'Imola en ne respectant pas la consigne de course donné au départ et en "volant" la victoire !

Gilles est mort au GP suivant en 1982 à Zolder (Belgique) !

Didier Pironi se blessera grièvement par la suite au GP d'Allemagne sur le circuit d'Hockenheim le 8 août 1982.Il ne reviendra plus en F1 et se tuera en Bateaux de course offshore le 23 Août 1987.

@NARB57 i know all that ,i'm saying the documentary here was played before the 1883 imola grand prix of 1983,one year after gilles villeneuves death and i recorded all that on my vhs video at the time i was 13 years old.

Gilles is my hero. He was everything good about Formula One in his era. The sport lacks the likes of Gilles, he was the defining driver or the late 70's and early 80's. He was pure and talented beyond any of his competitors dreams. The great Lauda said he admired more than any driver. No one will ever fill the gap left by such a driver as Gilles Villeneuve!

@NARB57 the grand prix was aired on the 1 st of may 1983 and was won by patrick tambay,rene arnoux and alain prost had finished 3 third
