::EDIT:: For everyone asking about sheet music, I bought a book with all 6 Suites for Cello, as in written in bass clef, and transposed them by sight. No, I will not send you a copy of it. Buy sheet music to help keep publishers in business!!!

Recorded this on March 18th, 2010 over spring break. Have been meaning to post a recording of the Prelude for a while, and since I got some new microphones (2 MXL 993 Microphones) I figured it was a good opportunity to do so. Before yesterday (the 18th) it had been a few months since I'd played it, so it is a bit rough in a few parts. Also, I toyed with putting some reverb on it since the room I was in was not exactly ideal, but it tended to just muddy it up so what is heard is the completely clean signal.

I was pretty happy with the result of this, and the microphones were definitely worth the money I paid for them. Hope you all enjoy!

Here was my setup:
-2 MXL 993 microphones
-Tascam US-122 Interface
-Recorded on my Mac in Audacity
-Built-in Mac Camera (because my other cams battery was dead -__-;;;)

  • Would REALLY like to know where you got the music for this? Or if you could email it? I would love to learn this piece and relative pitch aside, learning this by ear ain't gonna cut it.

  • @StonewallElwood I bought a book with all 6 preludes written for Cello and transposed them by sight. I refuse to email copied music to people because that takes money away from publishers who could better use that money for new music pieces.

  • Great tone. :) Would love to know your setup. Mind replying? I'm a fellow Bari Sax player myself.

  • @MJPTHA3RD YBS - 62, BL3 Vandoren Mouthpiece, Vandoren ligature with vertical parallel bar plate, size 5 Vandoren reeds.

  • Would sound tons better on a Mark VI

  • @andycantu14 Except Mark VI's are not that great for classical, atleast in my opinion. The YBS-62 has a warmer, woodier sound where as the Mark VI is a little brassier sounding which is why they are always used for jazz. Just my opinion.

  • This is the most beautiful thing I've heard on a bari sax.
