Nonsense ! in Japan there is low divorce rates. Singapore has low divorce rates. Korea also. But the population continues to drop. Economic incentives IMO

Yeah sure, more resources give used by a guy who lives in a single house, during his life. But if he has no children, he leaves a legacy of ZERO resource use. If you spawn, the kids are going to be consuming resources after you die, and so will their kids, and the kids of their kids. Better to be a resource glutton and have no kids than be super efficient and spawn.
