De case Hagelander. A mini Opera. Soep.

The case Hagelander is a newly created piece, inspired by the stories of The gang of Jan de Lichte (L.P. Boon), The Threepenny Opera (/ B. Brecht/K. Weill) and historic stories from the region Hageland (Flanders, Belgium)
The story is set around the turn of the 19th-20th century, the times of the Industrial Revolution. Exploitation of the working class, child labour, beggars, theft and robbery, all common problems of daily life in those days. In the region Hageland, the Unions or liberalisation havent got a foothold yet. A labour party is still unknown. The clergy and landlords have a tight grip on society and live a peaceful existence in that position.. The hypocrisy of the notable gentlemen and especially the clergy is the image that we want to show. To many heads are turned when profits are at take.
