Would I be able to do an upgrade from a Celeron M 575 to a Core 2 Duo T9500? My laptop has auto-adjustable TDP, supports 800MHz FSB and other Core 2 Duos listed as options have the same TDP (35w) as the T9500. Both of these CPUs are also from the socket P (PGA478).

@suxondeez I'm guessing it keeps the CPU and GPU from overheating since these can reach great temperatures. Think of the paste as the computer equivalent of a polar bear's fur in Antarctica. It allows heat to pass through so it stays cooler. The fan helps further.
