http://www.netbooknews.com/ In this second video of the Mobinnova élan we've got Henry Lin from Mobinnova talking us through some of the software features of this Tegra based smartbook. It plays full HD 1080p video and it can do this for six hours on a single charge.

  • Will this be able to support software like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc? Would be nice to use in class

  • Windows CE does offer a version of Microsoft Office, so it is possible.

  • Who is that hottie in the mirror? :)

  • that's Nicole

  • Great work guys!

is it really going to be just $150?

  • i am really doubting that. $150 for Snapdragon and Freescale Smartbooks? Yes!

For Tegra devices... i mean it would be cool but it can't be possible

  • i like the glossy screens, it is just as annoying to use in bright light as matte, but picture is much more vibrant.

Lokking forward to actually seeing one of these. Where i live contracts can by law be no longer than 6 months, so i hope to see them subsidized :)

  • I can't believe the ratio of people here that are whining about glossy displays!! The picture is waaaaaaaaay more sharp in appearance. You might as well not run HD content on a screen of that size if you don't care about sharpness. So you've got to turn the display a little to avoid glare back... big fkn deal!

  • Though thinking about this interface again, it looks more like a touchscreen interface than a laptop interface. All this 3D UI is nice looking for sure, but I don't think it makes sense. They should just provide much more basic UIs and concentrate on using 3D for video games. For example using Tegra 3D to emulate every console up to N64, Dreamcast, and to legally play OpenGL games like Quake3, that would be great. But I don't think people want to wait for 3d animations of desktop icons.

  • At Computex they were saying Mobinova will be $150, because it's only 512mb RAM and only 8.9" screen. While 10" Tegra netbooks with 1GB ram could be $200.. But perhaps they plan to do all sorts of HSDPA carrier deals that lock people into HSDPA contracts. I would recommend them not to go that route only. I prefer pre-paid month by month $20 HSDPA contracts, it shouldn't subsidize the whole laptop cost.
