Thursday marked the first day of national mourning for the departed Nobel laureate Prof. Wangari Maatahi. Flags flew at half-mast in government installations while in her home area of Nyeri, neighbours and pupils from her primary school planted 71 trees in her honour.
A rare woman but even more a rare Kenyan she was. So unlike many greedy racist Kenyans. She was completely different as she actually did things to help not like other Kenyans who just steal and destroy.

Am sure she would have loved a very simple burial, but i hope they will plant trees instead of laying wreaths. RIP Wangari, you were and continue to be an inspiration to the African girl/woman.

So after all Raila was consulted? I was expecting him to come out opposing the idea cos he may not have been consulted. Will be invited to the funeral?
karuitha 4 months ago
So Raila was consulted on a state funeral for Wangare. I was expecting to see him and his ODM chums coming out against the idea just because he was not consulted. Aberdare forest should be renamed Wangare Maathai forest.
