@winterrstreet No of course not. Loads of bands have bad ratings on Pitchfork but are doing extremely well. That's not my point. It's not the effect that Pitchfork has on bands. It's the effect it has on people. Pitchfork makes and breaks opinions of the audience. Maybe not EVERYONE. But most of the time it's a pretty big chunk.

@blablabla1196 hahaha, do you seriously think a single organisation such as Pitchfork has the ability to make or break a career? perhaps they talk so highly of artists such as Bon Iver and Lana Del Rey because they are pure, untamed lyricists who produce a sound passionate, emotional and inspiringly unique?
