  • Notes (part 6)

One has to speak truth to the power now: In absolute terms, proposed U.S. emission cuts is lower than China's, even though it is already unfair at the first place to make such an over-simplified comparison with the world richest country with a developing country still having tens of millions living under one dollar per day. How far should we go with US exceptionism and pretend it does not exist?"

  • Notes (part 4)

Further, Wen points that the U.S. number of 17% is a soft target, meaning it allows for offsets via carbon trading and LULUCF, while Chinas is using hard reduction targets.

As an activist from China, Dale Wen has been advocating for low-carbon sustainable development in China for several years . Now she feels the urgent needs to set the record straight in order to continue this work. In her own words,

  • 文嘉军,你要注意反思自身的精英意识。

  • Old racist colonial nations are the most hypocratic and selfish nations in the whole solar system! After ruthlessly eating world's resources and damaging our environment for a couple of hundred years, they now try to prevent developing nations from catching up with them, they certainly don't want to share world's resources and wealth with majority of people in the world, though they often hide their real intentions under some pretty worlds such as democracy, human rights, fair trade, etc.

  • OBAMA said that in his Inaugural Address on Jan, 20, 2009.

If you search with the words, you will see it.

  • The average energy consumption and the resultant emission per head of US is more than 50 time of that of China. An American turned off his gas for one day is enough for a Chinese to use for a month. But US is still demanding Chinese to stop one month's gas so that the riches in the US could still enjoy their lavish lifestyle. Shameless!!!

  • The result of Copenhagen, no matter which way it turns out, is likely to be a framework agreement or protocol. In another word, it is not likely to be legally binding.

China bashing by US and UK has been going on since early 1990s. It is not going to stop even if China would sign anything at Copenhagen on the terms dictated by the west.

  • In the so called "western democracies", the politics is played out irrationally, or "dirty and ugly". It is not in any way on Chinas Confucian ethics or rational approach, rational deliberation. One of the western political techniques used is the Group Pressure-----to be applied to the weak, frail parties who are likely to give in to coercive demands from a band.

  • Climate change, or Global Warming, is NOT an effect brought about by one-year, or 30-year CO2 emissions. It is a gradual result of past 100 to 200 years in the making. The responsibility for it falls squarely onto the countries which had started industrialization 100-200 years ago.
