A glimpse at the 2011 Sandcastle Day, Cannon Beach, OR. Despite the rain, a lot of people had a great time...and some wonderful sculptures were made...and then washed away by the incoming tide. In this ephemeral art event, professional folks had about 5 hours to completely build their pieces, and amateurs 4. Quite a task in some instances.
I hope this teaser gets you out to your nearest competition. It is good fun! And at Cannon Beach, dogs were VERY welcome!
