I have always loved this song!! Such beauty in this song and yet so much pain as well. This song always brings tears streaming down my face everytime when I hear this song. Not only for the meaning of this song but also for the way I can relate to the lyrics in this song about people I have loved and lost in this life. Such a goreous song from such a talented artist. I miss the times of this music as well. Such a time that can never be matched for sure!! Phenomenal indeed!! <3

Although I don't mean to insult some of you out there I have to say this; Most of you don't actually understand music as an art. Most of you just don't get James Taylor's music in general. He is one of those musicians that unless you play guitar and/or piano you will never truly understand. Appreciate all you want but if you didn't take a single fucking second out of your day to attempt to learn some of these songs you are forever lost to the mediocrity of a non-laid life. Taylor's best renditions of this occurred during this time period, for two reasons - the quality of his voice then, and the emotional way that he employed it.

The downer of this one is the synth (but it lays far back enough to keep from being ruinous). The upside are the painful "Oh"s at the beginning of the choruses, that sound like they're being emitted by someone who truly is in emotional pain at the moment.
