This is a 16' United Sahara Big Ball Bowler that I restored. This particular bowler must have had a life at some establishment in Ontario, California as there is a city permit sticker on the upper right portion of the BG from 1966. More pictures are here.. http://picasaweb.google.com/TomVila2004/SaharaBigBallBowlerProject#

I would like to thank all the RGPers out there that contribute technical help on RGP. Your posts and past posts help...and you probably don't even know it most of the time.

Thanks to Mickey Treat at Coin Op NY (www.coinopny.com) for some of the technical help on this game. This was my first venture into a big ball bowler. WOW, to say the least! I had a blast restoring it but unfortunately I couldn't keep it. I traded it away for a nice pitch n bat and a pinball.

This video is also dedicated to the memory of some folks that have poured their hearts and souls into the pinball hobby and these fine EM arcade games...
Russ Jensen, Al Garber and Mark McIntyre. May you all rest in peace...thank you for keeping the games alive.

  • i take it that some of the pins are not working right.

  • They are all working correctly...the five pin was a little loose from a weak spring but all work correctly. Would you be referring to the "Spares" game? The game sets up spares for the bowler to 'pick up'.

  • loved playing the one at Dunkin's Beach in New Hamshire in 1964. 10 cents per game,2 balls per frame, the only bummer was no replays, once in a while that machine would also trip out and sometimes only set up 9 pins. I got a pool table and 2 pinball machines, fantastic and batting champ. Only missing one of these.

    You lucky dog.

  • Beautiful machine!

  • Nice job! Every time I see one of these I start thinking...where can I squeeze in a bowler. They bring back good memories and they're just too cool!
