My planned spacecraft Y1a deploying a Satellite. It has two combined turbojet- ramjet- engines, which are not burning propellant, but instead are powered by an energy storing device. It has a conventional rocket engine for reaching orbit. Propellant for the rocked engine is in two external tanks, which will not be jettisoned. Two small rocked engines are for orbital maneuvering and deorbiting. The two vertical turbines are for vertical takeoff and landing. This is the manned freight version of the spacecraft. There will also be an unmanned freight version, and a version, which can carry 4 or 6 people instead of freight. Another version for long duration flight will have a small habitation module for one or two people in its cargo bay.

  • it's huge!

are you sure it can be lifted?

  • It's seven meters long and has a wingspan of ten meters. That is, I think, small for an orbital spacecraft. The energy storing device has a low mass compared to the energy it contains, so I'm pretty sure it can be lifted.

  • by "energy storing device" do you mean "fuel"?

  • No, that is the point. It's not fuel. I can't tell you too much about it, because it's something I'm developing secretly. All I can say is that it is a cylindrical shaped machine, and it has something to do with electromagnetics and relativity. Electricity is used to transfer energy into it before launch, and there is a system inside that machine that makes a controlled collapse, in which it releases the energy during about 2 minutes. The energy is used to heat up the air in the jet engines.
