An old repost.

Cream together:
1 lb. butter (do not substitute)
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar (packed)
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring

Mix together:
3-3/4 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Stir flour mixture into butter mixture.

Carefully fold in:
1 c. pecan halves
1 c. whole macadamia nuts
2 c. chocolate chips

Drop by rounded spoonful on cookie sheet. Gently pat dough to flatten.

Bake at 275 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour. (Yes, that's correct).

These will be the best cookies you will ever eat. These are good for shipping as they are very sturdy...

I just bought a bag of macadamia nuts. Right after the wooden spoon drawing I asked my friend Van if she would be in charge of my next drawing. She agreed :) If you are interested in getting a cup of the mac nuts necessary to make this video, please leave a comment and include that you would like to be interested in receiving it. There are two qualifications: 1) You must be 18 or have your parents' permission to send me your name and mailing address ONCE YOU ARE NAMED THE WINNER to cookingandcrafting@gmail.com (do not send me your address until I tell you to do so!!!); and 2) realize that this will be an opened package, as I will have to measure it out,..I bought the bulk package at Costco. Just so you know. I will wear gloves and put it in a ziploc baggie.

  • Would it ruin the whole recipe if I cooked without the nuts? they sound delicious! -Angie

  • @nkr1695 You can totally leave the nuts out.

  • How many stars would you give this cookie out of five?

  • @Heywhatsupdawg1111 I would say if you like hard chocolate chip cookies, it is a 4 (scale of 1-5). I have another one up that I just posted that I baked with my nephew--those I give a 5.

  • I just made these with the nuts you gave me. They were DELICIOUS. Thanks for the recipe :)

  • @cooknfan11 You're so welcome :)

  • This is good, but it's isn't one of the best I've seen. :) great job though!

  • The reason why the almond flavoring doesn't get incorporated throughout the dough is because you added the liquids in right with the sugars in their powder state, so the part of the sugar that the flavoring was poured on absorbed everything and therefore the flavoring didn't mix in. you should probably wait till after you've creamed everything together and then add the flavoring so it's sort of a liquid on liquid, and the flavoring will probably get incorporated better. same with vanilla.

  • LOL AT THE PART YOU 'FAKED' IT AHAH.

  • @bellakacy1 glad you like it!

  • OHH these look good. Shoot now I want chocolate chip cookies! i bet the macadamia nuts are what make them the best EVAH!

  • chocolate & any kind of nut is good. : )

  • @popparoc46 do it!!

  • Sounds terrific! But an hour to babysit cookies in the oven? Huh.

Maybe I will try... - roc

  • @yoyomax12 nope, wayyyyy diferent texture. They aren't chewy. This is such an old vid. I never did the taste tests, etc.. sadly. They are heavy and dense. When you break them in half, they snap. but they are SO FREAKING GOOD!

And LOL @ the one hour comments. Even though I state it in the vid and in the description box I will always get people who question it.

  • @NaturalVrouw This vid was done a whle ago and it is so warm here that I do not do them often. However, if I remember correctly they were a little heavy. Nice heft to them

  • @XxPuddingFaceXx once upon a time i used to have more time :(

  • @jcrefasi1 lol yes agreed :)

  • @imperceptibleme Yeah it does sound off but it really makes them awesome

  • @MouseChirpy These are awesome if you can stand the oven being on for so long. It has been SO muggy the last two days!!! I do these at night when it tends to cool down a little

  • Oooh, Beth. This looks like a wonderful cookie. I am always on the hunt for the perfect chocolate chip cookie (crisp and light). This looks like it could be it. Thank you for sharing your recipe. No need to include me in your mac nut drawing as I can get it locally any time.

  • OH!! And I would love some nuts please!! Thank you!!

  • I will definitely give that a try, hubby loves cookies!! lol

  • Ohhh, cookies to die for!

  • I've seen recipes something like this but I thought OMG an hour to bake them? Seems like a long time but it makes a bit of sense at the lower temps. I bet they are so good. Hugs girl!
