@LuigiSkyskip Because most (pre-promoted)axe-users in this series are already heavily biased towards the "double or nothing" side of the scale with high attack but low speed and usually low defense. It's only balanced by their somewhat high health, but everything counts on actually scoring a kill without getting hit too often. The most blatant exception to this is Hector, who is a powerhouse with somewhat okay speed and very good defense.

Although I mean why would you use hawkeye in the first place? I mean sure he's better that most prepromotes and has enough HP and DEF to be kinda tank-y but ehhh

Hawkeye should have used Halberd instead. That might have killed her even without critical hit...
