Slash-Appetite For Destruction Tone

I have been playing around with the settings on my rp-50 and my wah pedal. I have come up with this tone. I think it sounds alright. I am trying to copy the tone slash used on the guns n roses album, appetite for destruction. He is said to have used a 1959t lead plexi, modded by Tim Caswell on the album. sorry for the poor quality.

It just doesn't have the right bite, sustain, and the other various qualities that make the tone. Read slash's Autobiography it tells you why no one, not even him can get that tone ever again.

Brother, you friggin nailed it. To hell with anyone who doesn't think so. That's the closest I've heard to date. Slash himself would agree. There are 5 coveted tones in Rock : The EVH Brown Sound, the Hendrix Fuzz, the Iommi Drop Tuned, The Randy Rhoads Blizzard and the Slash AFD. You've got one down, four to go...

i need to get alnico 2 pickups to get to the afd tone, i know ive almost got it but my epi alnico 5's are holdin the tone back and making it muddy, nice work man :)
