Jonathan Douglas "Jon" Lord
(born 9 June 1941) also known as 'Hammond Lord'
He has most famously been a member of Deep Purple, as well as of Whitesnake, Paice, Ashton & Lord, The Artwoods and Flower Pot Men. He has worked with numerous other artists including Graham Bonnet (following Bonnet's departure from Rainbow).

What I always liked about Jon Lord is his creativity not just in his playing but also in his sound. In that time he made a lot of experiments with effects and amplification (Hammond + Marshall). Later he connected an electric piano with his Hammond keyboard so he could play both similar. In the 90's and early 2000's he had great sounds too, even without special effects...

A thing I didn't realise at the time is that a "normal" Hammond B3 couldn't sound that way. (The sound of a "normal" Hammond always disappointed me). It was only much later that I realised the sound had to have additional processing.

I notice that in this clip, he also uses an ARP Odyssey. That was quite rare for Jon Lord in those days.
