I never knew this song as a kid; the sounds of engines completely drowned out everything but the melody. Recently I downloaded the soundtrack and was pleased to properly hear this peaceful little song for the first time.

This one isn't done in any specific style really. Also I used a tiny pattern length, which was a huge pain.

  • Is the release of Mario Kart 7 possibly the reason behind this epic 8-bit remake?

  • @OrangMario I don't own a 3ds, so no, I barely even thought about mk7 until after it was out. I have played it now though, and I completely love it. Best game in the series.

  • I'm more of a Banshee Boardwalk kind of guy, but this is a really great remix regardless.

  • @SNN135 I love Banshee Boardwalk too! I tried to port to SMW once but oh god the note velocities

  • Wow :D Sounds like the NES version of Mario Kart 64 ^^

Could you try to do "Toads Turnpike"?

  • @kunstkr1tik Possibly, I do really like that song :D

  • Would be nice to see Rainbow Road as well, since that's a lot of people's favourites from 64, myself included.
