Even though I like Madonna. Whitney was the #1 artist of the 80's and Madonna was #2. She couldn't touch Whitney in talent and she has not and shall not beat any off records. And I would put Cher #3, Janet #4, Cyndi #5 and Tina #6

While the top two, Whitney and Madonna are correct, not sure the others ones are in the right order. That is because if it is based on album and single sales for that decade Sheena Easton, Diana Ross and Olivia Newton John I think would be in the top ten. I doubt Cher, Debbie Gibson or Paula Abdul would make the cut.

This obviously isn't a list of the hottest female singers of the 80s, otherwise Susanna Hoffs would have been #1. Hottest then and hottest now. Also Joan Jett, Samantha Fox, and Lita Ford would have been on it.
