  • Hi-performance rotaries do share the rough sound of a 2-stroke piston engine during idle and low revs

This is because both engines have an overlapping intake/exhaust cycle. Do not be confused! A 2-stroke utilizes this to reduce either manufacturing/running costs or weight problems, but a racing rotary engine uses it for high power!

The tame, street-driven rotary sounds quiet and steady, but when you hear one that sounds like a 2-stroke, you'd best not challenge it. You will probably lose.

  • what is the point of you existing?
