京都祇園祭・山鉾巡行・鶏鉾の辻回しです。2010年7月17日
Turning festival float at Gion Matsuri in front of Kyoto City Hall.

Festival floats used in Kyoto's Gion Matsuri reach height of 25 m and weight of up to 12 tonnes. Their wheels do not turn, however, and much skill and effort is required to turn them 90 degrees during the parade.

  • Interesting. This video shows how much effort it is needed to turn the float, especially when they failed to move it once. I love Gion Matsuri for that.
