To answer the differences question that he mentions in the Mini-FAQ around 0:46, the only difference with the model numbers are the region in which they are sold. A 1228 is UK specific, a 1227 is European specific and a 1212 is sold in the USA. Only differences are the instruction manual and power adapter included in the box. You buy a 1228 model when you reside in the USA, you're gonna have trouble plugging it into your wall socket!

Can you tell which component cable you used? Was it the official playstation one or a third party one?
